PALINDROMES GAME

It’s been a while since the last HH word game—so here’s something to keep you busy...

​

Some words, like refer and minim, are palindromes. Some words, like REFERendum and MINIMized, have palindromes inside of them—and that’s where this game comes in.

​

Click PLAY in the box below, and you’ll be given 30 five-letter palindromes. Above them will be a nine-letter word with five of its letters missing. All you have to do is pick the correct five letters to fill in the gap. So if the clue was PLUN_____, you’d pick the letters DERED to spell PLUNDERED. If the clue was _____ENCE, you’d pick REVER to spell REVERENCE. All seems straightforward? Let’s just say the words will be trickier than plundered and reverence—oh, and there’s only 4 minutes on the clock. That’s more like it...
